In February 2012, Huntly Development Trust and Grampian Housing Association signed a trailblazing new agreement. The partnership will see GHA and HDT develop renewable energy opportunities in order to secure investment for the regeneration of Huntly and District. This will include investment in housing of various types and tenures, along with other projects to improve our community, such as stimulating enterprise, providing employability skills and addressing fuel poverty. In the first instance, renewable projects are likely to focus on onshore wind but the partnership is interested in many different technologies, including hydro, anaerobic digestion, biomass and combined heat and power.
